What's in this activity

  • I ride the bus to school on some days. The bus has a driver and many seats.
  • My teacher tells us the bus rules: stay seated, keep hands to myself, and use a quiet voice.
  • Sometimes the bus is loud or stops suddenly. That can feel surprising in my body.
  • The driver and bus aide watch to keep everyone safe. They want me to arrive ready to learn.
  • I can hold the strap on my backpack, look out the window, or squeeze a fidget while I sit.
  • If I need help I can raise my hand or tell the aide, "I need a minute."
  • When we arrive I wait for my stop, stand in line, and walk to my classroom calmly.
